Increasing Standard Of national EXAm

Is it the right choice?

Indonesia now are still facing many problems, such as economy, health, and also education. These problems are full of urgency to solve.

People in Indonesia see that the quality of Education in this country is still low. The Government believes that one of the causes of this problem is the low minimum standard of passing grade for any schools. Compare to the other countries, Indonesia still has the lowest passing grade. The Gov think that this kind of situation will lead the students to the eternal laziness ( because they don’t feel forced)

However, increasing the standard of national exam brings a new problem. Many people think that it’s a bad action and will bring a bad atmosphere toward the education itself. The students will only think about how to get a good mark and forget about their own purpose to go to school: get lessons.

They will do everything to get good mark no matter they deserve to get it or not. Many students become desperate and do cheating to pass their school. They do very very various cheating through SMS, and many other ways. And as my personal comment, this condition could lead them to become the next Indonesian corruptors.

This is one of the current issues in Indonesia. I really need your comment, for Indonesia.

You can give comments in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

One more question: "Does your country have a national exam?"

I am sure the education system is less or more appropriate as proven by for the last couple of years Indonesian Student are dominating the Student Olympic games in Math, physics, Biology or Chemist, but the Score system is the lack factor as this become a mind set for every student to achieve highest score to gain the one word 'graduate'

There is not enough room for creativity, so after the graduation and when they grew up they still need to listen to those motivator speaker and attend to the motivation seminars which actually is not necessary :-)

You got good point on this post, keep writing goo article !

hi..i m from Malaysia..yes, we hv national exams too..asian like us hv a lot of exams compared to the west but its beneficial to students in a way, we prepare ourselves mentally for tests and so forth but i hope our std of passing grade will not be lowered... Malaysia used to be one of the high standards of education in the 1960s and 1970s..

i agree to have certain standard for education, but in the term of having the same opportunity.
The paradox start when we must pay for our education & health access. It means also that we have structure base on our economic & financial capacity, and i hate the capitalistic mindset for basic needs!

another discussion is, why the hell it take 2 month announcement, when you using computer to scan your result in just a sec ?
quite stupid bureaucracy i might says.

cheers..
